A Colorful Backyard Visitor
This handsome red-bellied woodpecker stopped by our backyard feeders to pose for me this afternoon.
Good Morning Sunshine!
I was testing my 300mm f/4 lens with a 2X converter this morning when I found myself being scolded for blocking the view of the bird feeder.
A Roly-poly Morning
We spent the morning exploring in the garden and discovered some roly-poly bugs!
(woodlice or pill bugs)
I was testing a new (to me, anyway) lens, and young Samuel was trying to grab the rather sizable lens hood.
*For some reason the lens data is not showing up. Canon EF 24mm f/1.4L wide open.
Brightening a Gloomy Day...
It was so gloomy this morning, I decided to experiment with an off-camera flash set to -3 stops. This cardinal's head was turned just enough that the flash didn't show in his eye.
"So I met this old coot running at the lake..."
Oops! Make that running ON the lake!
I've been trying for such a long time to catch one of these guys in action!
Giving Me the Stink-Eye
"Let's have a little chat about your choice of birdseed..."
Just Stopped in for a Bite
This female red-winged blackbird has been dropping by the feeder again. It's nice to see the blackbirds again in by yard.
Poppy, The Yard Lion
Our new furry boy with his penetrating gaze.
A Flash of Red
The cardinals have been frequent guests at the backyard feeder this December.
