Looking for Brunch
White Heron in a pond along the Lake Lewisville Trail near The Colony. Of course I didn't have my camera so had to resort to my iPhone. Wish the focus was a little better but wanted to share just the same.
Butterfly Super Nova
Image created by zooming in and out on a terracotta candle holder with butterfly cut out shapes in complete darkness.
Evening Primrose (In the Morning)
Mid May in North Texas and Evening Primroses seem to be everywhere. I was particularly taken by these at the Lake Lewisville Environmental Learning area as some were more than two feet tall competing with other surrounding plants for sunlight.
Summer is Right Around the Corner
One of many dragonflies at the Lake Lewisville Environmental Learning Center recently. It's only May and the signs that summer is approaching are already here to include the ground cracking.
Contrasting beauty of a delicate water lily adjacent to the rough texture of a fallen tree.
Take It Easy
Local resident of the Lake Lewisville Environmental Learning Area having a relaxing Saturday morning.
This plant is supposedly called pickle weed although it's appearance seems to deserve a more appropriate name for it's natural beauty. It was growing in the marsh part of the Lake Lewisville Environmental Learning Area.
One of only a few thistles at the Lake Lewisville Environmental Learning Area.
Back with Nature
Boardwalk through the Lake Lewisville Environmental Learning Area just to the west of Lewisville, Texas. Great nature area just minutes from the busy city.
Solitary figure at the Nasher Sculpture Center in the distance as if waiting patiently.
My days are spent indoors as an IT professional so every chance I get I head outdoors. It would be good to arrange and participate in some photo meet ups to get to know people with similar interests. As I hear about photo opportunities, I will post them on the community Community/Forums/Community Events area of the site.
